"POP YOUR PANTIES WITH PARIS, LINDSAY AND NICOLE ENTERTAINS AUDIENCES AT THE 2008 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL"

***

Cannes, France [May 20, 2008] -- Pop Your Panties With Paris, Lindsay
and Nicole
is getting noticed in the Short Film Corner as part of the 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival. The parody music video that impersonates the rehab of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie has already won two major awards at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF) for Best Direction, Best Short Video and Best Music.

Parody4Charity produced the 4-minute short to support, Media4Humanity a New York-based charity working towards eliminating human trafficking. The film stars Ashley Michaelsen, Tiffany Lee and Kimberly Magness and features the voice of famed vocalist Zelma Davis (C + C Music Factory), singing "Plastic Paris," a catchy and clever spoof of the country classic "Plastic Jesus." The song parodies the trio's mission as they seek image rehabilitation.

The reaction from Cannes attendees is "overwhelming" says Itsi Atkins the film's writer and producer. The film appears in the Short Film Corner under index number 1803, along with nightly mobile screenings from "Cannes in a Van," the world's smallest mobile cinema at the world's largest film festival!

Each evening, the "POP YOUR PANTIES" mobile screening theatre moves through the streets of Cannes to entertain the crowds with actresses Dita de Leon and Stephanie Parker performing physical comedy as the tune, "Plastic Paris" holds the attention of the crowds. A select group of US Navy sailors from the USS Harry Truman received an honorary box set of the DVD complete with official PYP panties.

Here's what the critics are saying:
"Pop Your Panties is a clever, contemporary and wildly entertaining satire. Itsi Atkins is a natural-born entertainer, artist, and above all a humanitarian."

Todd Konrad - Independent Film Quarterly

"A marvelous short music video "Pop Your Panties With Paris, Nicole and Lindsay" that generates laughs and applause. Itsi Atkins has taken the music video one step away from its classic genre to comic parody and social commentary. In the film's visual imagery, filled with eye candy, it is hard to decipher between our culture's pre-disposed misogyny from genuine simpatico, but the producer redeems himself by dedicating his work to Media4humanity."

- Griselda Steiner (Freelance Writer)

Itsi Atkins commented, "Our objective is to parody contemporary issues in a format that increases direct donations to Media4Humanity. The entertainment press needs fresh copy and the parody video, a format I wish to continue to produce for interested charities, is a novel and original way to combine celebrity appeal with worthy humanitarian goals." Atkins further states that he is working to create a better world, "one panty at a time."

NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL FILM & VIDEO FESTIVAL

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, Feb. 18, 2008 - Stuart Alson, Executive director of NYIIFVF has selected "Pop Your Panties with Paris, Nicole & Lindsay", a celebrity parody music video produced by Itsi Atkins and Lisa Nusbaum  for exhibition at the New York and Los Angeles 2008 festivals. The opening night screening has sold out, but festival officials have scheduled a second screening for Saturday March 1st. at 8pm.

The selection panel gave "Pop Your Panties" an overall EXCELLENT review. "SHOT ON DV WITH PRETTY GOOD IMAGE QUALITY." -  "EFFECTS WORK, GIVEN THE SATARICAL EDGE!" -  "SHORT MUSIC VIDEO PARODY THAT IS VERY INTERESTING TO WATCH." -  "FUN, TONGUE IN CHEEK & GET'S RACY IN SPOTS!"

Itsi Atkins, filmmaker and visual activist produces films in the form of  a Parody – "imitation with a difference" (according to Wikipedia). His social activism wrestles with the most important issues of the day – war, natural disaster, political ignorance - as well as pop culture's obsession with the rise and fall of celebrities.  In its guise as "imitation" it uses the visual imagery, personae, and content of a media event – but its "difference" is in its irreverent commentary that highlights the underlying tragedy.  Itsi's art makes itself look like the real thing it parodies, but his authentic motivation is to have the viewer see the comic side – laugh – and experience the truth without the pain.

"Plastic Paris", the featured song, is performed by Zelma Davis of C+C Music Factory, Susanne Depperman, Cricket and Luke Ryan. "Pop Your Panties", the  music video parodies three famous gossip tabloid queens singing the catchy tune of country western classic "Plastic Jesus". The twist of the song "Plastic Paris" being that Paris' spiritual revelation entitles her to be represented as a religious icon.  The video stars celebrity looks-a-likes, sexy and scandalous, who profess to reform their selfish ways, go to rehab and promise to support charity.  Their unique concept is to have fans - "Pop Your Panties" - sell them on the street or at auction and give the money "to a good cause".  How far will the trio's egotism, drive for self-promotion, greed and hypocrisy go?  We will know when Itsi, who wishes to produce more "Parodies for Charities" brings on his next sequel.
"Pop Your Panties" is directed by Victor Geheimnis, starring Ashley Michaelsen as Paris, Tiffany Lee as Nicole, Kimberly Magness as Lindsay and Luke Ryan as the singing Chauffeur.
Parody4Charity is a group of dedicated volunteers including Stan Poulos, Rick Sanford, Brett Botula and many more who believe "charity begins at home". "Pop Your Panties" was produced by itsi Atkins to help Media 4 Humanity, a NY based organization working to eradicate child slavery in America. Media4Humanity's founder Melanie Siben explains, "This issue needs attention. If Mr. Atkins can draw that attention with his salacious video, then God bless him!"

Pop Your Panties with Paris Nicole & Lindsay
Parody4Charity to help Media4Humanity

February 13, 2008 - New York, NY - The media devotes such a vast amount of attention to tabloid stories/ celebrity scandals, why not diverge some of the attention and direct it to a good cause? This is exactly the intention of Parody 4 Charity Productions, the latest project of Hollywood producer and fashion designer Itsi Atkins. On Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2008, Parody 4 Charity will launch the Pop Your Panties campaign initiated with a four-minute music video called "Pop Your Panties" in which Mr. Atkins reverts to tabloid proven and tested salaciousness and makes it into a parody of the scandalous divas Paris, Nicole and Lindsay. While singing "Plastic Paris", the three tabloid queens find their own way of using their names to help "the needy and the poor": they auction their underwear.

Parody 4 Charity aims to draw some of the overabundant attention from the tabloid media and focus it on something that is widely overlooked these days even though it is happening right under our noses: child trafficking and exploitation in the United States. Itsi Atkins' favorite charity is Media 4 Humanity, a New York based organization working to eradicate child slavery in America. New York, California, Texas, Nevada, Florida, and Arizona have the highest rates of human trafficking in the nation. "Slavery in America exists largely because it is hidden," says M4H Founder Melanie Siben. "This issue needs attention. If Mr. Atkins can draw that attention with his salacious Pop Your Panties campaign, then God bless him!"

Parody 4 Charity will launch the Pop Your Panties campaign on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2008. The "Pop Your Panties with Paris, Nicole & Lindsay” video will also be presented on February 29, 2008, at the New York Film Festival. Zelma Davis of C+C Music Factory's Everybody Dance Now fame was the voice of Paris in the video. Itsi Atkins & Lisa Nusbaum, Producers. Media kit is available upon request.
